A label that holds on wet and greasy surfaces.
Vacuum packaging, greasy surfaces, a 0°C to 4°C cold chain, and handling at the butcher counter and checkout. A label on a meat product has to withstand all of that and stay legible through the last day of shelf life. Expiration date, lot number, net weight, and barcode must be accurate on every unit. Our ISO 22000 certified printing process ensures the label does not compromise the safety of your product.
A meat product goes through the cold chain, vacuum packaging, greasy surfaces, and the butcher's hands. The label has to withstand every step.
Vacuum packaging creates wrinkles and uneven spots. Standard adhesive cannot adapt to that. We use an adhesive with high initial tack that grips even an uneven surface, PP synthetic material that does not absorb moisture, and a UV coating to protect against grease.
We print the graphic label with your brand, logo, and fixed text in flexo quality. On your line, your thermal transfer printer adds the expiration date, lot, net weight, and barcode. One graphic label design works for 15 products, with the variable data added on your printer.
A multilayer label with a duplex or triplex construction adds an extra layer of space for an additional language. Open-close (peel-and-reveal) provides up to 4 pages for two languages. Your brand is on the outside, with the additional declaration underneath. The label is adapted for multiple markets.
Questions about materials for vacuum packaging, variable data, regulations for processed meat products, and the ordering process.
PP synthetic material with an adhesive that has high initial tack. Vacuum packaging creates wrinkles, and standard adhesive cannot adapt to that. PP does not absorb moisture or grease, and the UV coating protects the print. We test on your specific packaging before the production run, since vacuum bags vary by material and texture.
Yes, with the right adhesive. We use an adhesive formulated for greasy and wet surfaces that maintains its grip even when there is a layer of grease or meat juice on the surface. PP material does not absorb grease, so it does not degrade over the shelf life. Testing on a sample roll under your conditions is required.
Yes. We use a thinner PP film that adapts to the curve without lifting at the edges. The die-cut shape is adapted to the shape of the product. Adhesive with stronger initial tack grips even a small contact surface. For heavily curved products, we recommend a narrower format that follows the shape better.
Yes. PP synthetic material with reinforced adhesive and UV coating is designed for the full life cycle: from the production line, through the cold chain (0°C to 4°C), transport, retail storage, and into the customer's hands. The adhesive holds, the print stays legible, and the barcode remains scannable.
A pre-printed label. We print the graphic label with your brand and fixed text in flexo quality. On your line, your thermal transfer printer adds the product name, net weight, expiration date, lot, and barcode. One graphic label design works for all products, with the variable data added on your printer.
Yes. We produce WAX, WAX/RESIN, RESIN, and Near Edge ribbons. For the meat industry, we recommend WAX/RESIN, which gives a print resistant to moisture and grease on PP material. Compatibility is guaranteed because both come from the same facility. We deliver labels and ribbons together in the same shipment.
A multilayer label with a duplex or triplex construction adds an extra layer of space for an additional language. Your brand is on the outside, with the additional declaration underneath: ingredients with meat percentages, allergens, nutritional values, meat origin, and storage conditions. For two languages, an open-close label with up to 4 pages is enough. The label is adapted for multiple markets.
Yes. The meat percentage in the ingredients, the country of origin of the meat (especially for beef and pork), a list of allergens marked in bold, nutritional values, the category of the processed meat product, storage conditions, and the expiration date. For export to the EU, all of it must be in the language of the country of sale. Our prepress team checks legibility and compliance before printing.
For graphic labels, 5 to 7 business days from Star Proof approval. For pre-printed labels, 5 to 7 business days. For repeat orders, 3 to 5 business days. For multilayer, 7 to 10 business days. With six machines in operation, seasonal peaks (holidays, grilling season) are absorbed without extending lead times.
The type of meat product, packaging type (vacuum, skin, tray with stretch film, natural casing), label dimensions, whether you also need pre-printed labels for a thermal transfer printer, the number of products in your lineup, quantity, and deadline. If you export, list the markets and languages. You will receive a quote with a per-unit price within 24 hours.
Tell us what you package, what type of packaging you use (vacuum, skin, tray), how many products are in your lineup, and whether you export. We select the material that holds on your surface, the adhesive for your conditions, and recommend whether you need a graphic, pre-printed, or multilayer label. A sample roll on your packaging before the production run.
